Who Am I
My name is Victor Hernandez and I am a 'self taught' artist. Although I did graduate from THE ALFRED E. SMITH CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION HIGH SCHOOL with an architectural diploma. I have had no formal art lessons.
I have loved all the arts Painting, drawing, sculpting, Writing etc., since as long as I can remember. It is a kind of therapy. My way to escape and relax.
Right out of school I worked for a company called AUL Instruments in Long Island. I got the Job Thru an Uncle Tio(Uncle) Chemo. He worked in the QA lab SOldering and etching test boards. There I finalized schematics which the engineers sketched on a napkins! and then graduated to etching boards and then building, testing the equipment. It was a great learning experiance and I worked with some really smart and really great people.
I Don't think i ever thanked my uncle properly for that.
Thank's Tio CHEMO!!!
I Went to China to study Wushu for a Month or so and got to meet and workout with the Bejing Wushu team and played a couple of games of Chinese Tag with Li Lianjie! better known as Jet Li. That was truly a blast.
Then I moved on (not by choice, AUL got taken over, Then went out of business...)
I worked in NYC at law office, Jarblum, Solomon and fornari. Got the job thru friend Michael Soto and we worked in the file\copy room. That was a blast as well. Mike and I created some really cool stories and characters which we are still working on finalizing to this day.
Met my wife Christine while studying Wushu in NYC under Cynthia Ming. Christine and i Got married and moved to Brooklyn. small apartment in Bensonhurst right above one of Gotti's clubs. It was really quiet.
Well I quit Jarblum, Solomon and fornari right before They went out of business...
I moved on to TradeCard. Blah still have a bad taste in my mouth from that one. Altough I did learn how to manage telephone systems and worked with my wife that was probably the best that came out of that one.
Well I shouldn't say that because My Daughter Maya was born.
I was let go from that Job due to financial problems the company had. Although they kept hiring big money makers. Hmmmmmmmmm.
then my last two jobs kind of melded together and I got a job at Penny and Edmunds a law firm in NYC and there i managed there phone system untill They went out of business or got taken over by Jones Day.
Beginning to see a pattern here?
moved over to Jones Day for about a year or so and then moved on to my current job at McCarter & English another law firm in NJ. Here I managed The Video Conferencing systems, Telephone IP systems and other tecnical stuff.
I started working with Polymer Clay about 4 or 5 years ago and my first piece was a Nativity set for my mom. It took me about 2 years to complete, mostly because i am not confident at painting and i did not want to ruin the pieces. So I dug down and finished it.
During that time I made a Camel for the set which I fell in love with and the rest is History and I am now hooked.
So That's my story?
I hope it wasn't too Boring.
